MITIE, the strategic outsourcing company, is pleased to announce it has retained its facilities management(FM) contract with RWE npower, a leading integrated UK energy company. 

The five-year multi-million pound contract involves more than 240 MITIE people looking after services for RWE npower which include security, cleaning, waste, energy management and engineering and maintenance across 60+ sites nationally. 

In the retender RWE npower was looking for a supplier that was able to demonstrate the scale and flexibility needed to deliver value and savings across its estate. MITIE was able to do this and will continue to build on the existing relationship and adapt to RWE npower business requirements.

Martyn Freeman, Managing Director of MITIE’s facilities management division, said: “We’ve been working with RWE npower since 1998 providing integrated facilities services to its main sites around the UK. We’ve been able to make considerable savings and efficiencies by the reduction to one service provider with one multiskilled team, and we will continue to innovate, provide great service and deliver real value to RWE npower over the next five years.”
