Mitie Security has won three Retail Fraud Awards, securing wins in the ‘Most Innovative Retail Risk Management Solutions’, ‘Best Collaborative Retail Risk Management Solution’ and ‘Retail Risk Management Rising Star of the Year’ categories. These awards recognise Mitie’s work to promote collaboration in the security sector and its industry leading use of technology to help keep people, businesses and local communities safe.
The Retail Fraud Awards, organised by Retail Risk, recognise companies that have developed innovative security products and initiatives, as well as security teams and individuals who have maintained the best performance in the industry. The winners of the awards are chosen by a panel of judges formed by security experts from renowned companies such as Nike, Richemont International, Primark and Co-op.
Mitie’s wins in the ‘Most Innovative Retail Risk Management Solutions’ and ‘Best Collaborative Retail Risk Management Solution’ categories are for the company’s initiatives to share information on criminal behaviour among its national retail customers, underpinned by its technology solutions. Mitie has been using this information to support security teams on the ground and to assist local Police Forces with the gathering of evidence they need to keep criminals off the streets.
Meanwhile, the ‘Retail Risk Management Rising Star of the Year Award’ was given to James Bradley, Mitie’s Senior Crime and Intelligence Analyst, for his work helping set up a new Intelligence Team for one of the company’s national retail customers. Having delivered the project earlier this year, James now leads two Crime Intelligence Teams to support this customer.
In addition to these wins, three Mitie Security teams were also highly commended in the ‘Retail Risk Management Best Newcomer Award’, ‘F.A.C.E Award Dedicated to Frontline Ambassadors of Customer Experience’ and the ‘Instore Risk Management Team of the Year’ categories.
In the same week Emma Shaw, Managing Director of Esoteric Limited, was awarded the annual Mervyn Day Award for her contribution to the security industry. This is the first award that Esoteric, a leading provider of specialist counter espionage services, has won since it was acquired by Mitie in November 2021.
Jason Towse, Managing Director, Business Services, Mitie, said:
“Whether it is alerts that provide security teams on the ground with updates on events taking place nearby, or intelligence sharing programmes, we believe that technology and sector-wide collaboration are the future of the security industry. We’re extremely proud to see our work and colleagues recognised by Retail Risk with these awards and commendations. We’re committed to continuing to drive innovation and new ways of working to keep our customers and local communities safe.”
