Gary Zetter, Director of Apprentices & Sustainability for Mitie’s technical facilities management business, has been presented with the Noon Award at the prestigious Global Equality & Diversity (GED) Conference Awards.
The annual GED awards serve to shine the spotlight on professionals and academics who are involved in new approaches to equality and diversity.
The special Lord Noon Award celebrates an outstanding individual achievement in advancing equality and diversity. Despite tough competition, Gary picked up the award for his remarkable contribution to greater diversity and equality in race, gender, identity and opportunity for people at Mitie.
Gary commented on his win: “I never expected to be shortlisted for the Noon Award, particularly considering the amazing and inspiring people I was up against, so to actually win the award was extremely emotional and humbling for me”
“I always strive to do my best for Mitie and this recognises everyone who has trusted me to support them along the way. I will continue to champion race, gender and LGBTQ equality, and I hope that by sharing my knowledge and experience I can be a positive role model to other and inspire more people.
The awards were held at the London Marriot West India Quay Hotel on 23 November 2016.
