Mitie, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing company, are supporting BBC Children In Need this year by volunteering their time to take pledges from the public.
A team of 100 volunteers, including employees from Mitie’s 24Seven Helpdesk in Colton, Leeds, will be responsible for monitoring 50 telephone lines on the evening of Friday 14th November.
The team includes Mitie employees and clients, along with some family and friends. Even Mitie’s very own Pudsey will be making a special guest appearance!
BBC Children In Need is a UK charity that concentrates on helping disabled children and young people in the UK. Last year 245,000 calls were taken, equating to 117 calls every second and over £50,000,000 was raised for the charity.
Bridget Rushbrook, Head of 24seven Helpdesk, Shared Services said:
“Children In Need is such an important cause and we’re delighted to be able to support this year’s event. A lot of people on the team have had previous experience of taking part so were keen to get involved again.
“The whole team at Mitie’s 24Seven Helpdesk are looking forward to what’s going to be a fun and really worthwhile night.”
