Agreement groups 600 buildings under single contract, including Guildhall, Mansion House and Old Bailey, to deliver greater value to Corporation.
Mitie, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing and energy services company, has secured a five-year repair and maintenance contract with the City of London Corporation, which provides local authority services to the Square Mile business district, supports the financial services sector and runs many other of London’s iconic facilities.
The contract, valued at over £5 million pa, covers 600 buildings and structures across London sites, including the iconic City of London Guildhall, the Lord Mayor’s Mansion House, as well as other iconic buildings and structures. The contract requires maintenance service delivery to a wide range of operational locations including active markets, the Old Bailey court and traditional office buildings.
The contract encompasses specialist hard services including fire and security, BMS, chillers, combustion, HVAC and water treatment. Mitie will be self-delivering the vast majority of these services directly, helping the City of London Corporation to significantly reduce cost and improve service efficiencies.
Commenting on the award, Martin Holt, MD of Mitie Technical Facilities Management said:
“Our self-delivery capability will allow the City of London Corporation to deliver service improvement and cost savings at a time when budgets are under severe pressure.”
The City of London Corporation, the world’s oldest continuously elected body, has three main roles and its buildings and services are involved in all of them: 1) to provide local government services to the Square Mile global business district around St Paul’s, 2) to provide a number of high-profile services to London and the wider UK, and 3) to support the UK-based financial services industry.
