Mitie, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing company, is pleased to announce that Chris Newton has been awarded the prestigious BIFM Facilities Manager (FM) of the Year 2014 award.
The BIFM FM of the Year award recognises outstanding personal and professional performance in FM. Chris, who was presented the award at the annual BIFM Awards ceremony on 13 October 2014, has enjoyed a successful and demanding career in FM, with overarching commitment to customer engagement and mentoring his team.
Chris is currently Mitie’s contract Managing Director for Lloyds Banking Group (LBG), responsible for setting and delivering the FM strategy for LBG (having TUPE transferred from LBG in 2012).
Chris’s personal and professional skills have been applied to great effect on this contract, where he was part of the team that designed the scope of the contract and then implemented and delivered what is one of the largest IFM contracts in the UK’s industry. Chris has driven change on the contract from the front, as a true leader and has received praise and recognition from Mitie’s CEO Ruby McGregor-Smith.
Speaking about his award, Chris Newton said:
“I feel humbled and extremely proud to be recognised by BIFM for this award, which is testament to the teams I have been privileged to lead throughout my career. I am now looking forward to continuing to lead FM for Mitie in Lloyds Banking Group.”
