Interserve, the international support services and construction group, is launching an online debate series to spark conversation about how the workplace experience can improve employee productivity and engagement.
Starting on Monday 21 November, the first debate will discuss the importance of the physical space in improving employee productivity. Opening remarks, responses and closing statements from two expert speakers – Andrew Mawson, founder of Advance Workplace Associates (AWA), and Julia Lindsay, CEO of iOpener Institute, an international consultancy that helps companies support their employees to give their best at work, – will be posted online over a three-week period. All those interested in workplace productivity and workplace experiences, facilities management and how to improve the day-to-day functionality of their estates are invited to join the debate at www.ingenuity-at-work.com/workplace-debate to voice their opinions on the ideas presented at each stage and vote for their winning argument.
The debate addresses employers’ increased focus on productivity, and will explore how to drive and measure it. The discussion will be moderated by Jeff Flanagan, managing director – commercial at Interserve. It builds on Interserve’s ongoing research project with workplace change experts, AWA, looking at the science behind the workplace experience, and follows a breakfast forum held last month with corporate occupiers and retailers. This forum explored the importance of putting the end user at the heart of where they work, thinking holistically about the work environment and acknowledging that while functional delivery plays a key role in workplace management, companies need to create experiences that encourage strong emotional feelings in their employees.
