Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has secured a one-year facilities management account worth over £750,000 to provide cleaning services for all public schools within the Granollers municipal area, near Barcelona in Spain.
The deal is with the Granollers municipal government’s department of education and will see Interserve provide cleaning services at all 17 public schools and municipal education centres across the region. Interserve will be responsible for cleaning classrooms, indoor spaces and school courtyards, as well as supplying the education facilities’ hygiene products.
The win builds on Interserve’s existing portfolio of school and education centre accounts within the Spanish market, which is worth over €3.6 million.
The Granollers department of education prides itself on conserving energy and water at its education facilities. It also believes that a clean and pleasant environment is integral to the academic success and overall wellbeing of our pupils and teaching professionals.
Jose Luis Garcia Hurtado, general manager for Spanish operations at Interserve, said: “Our existing portfolio of schools and education centres across the Catalonia region and beyond has given us a strong understanding of the requirements of an academic environment. We look forward to providing a similar high standard of cleaning for the 17 schools and education centres in Granollers and cementing our position as a leading facilities services provider in the Catalonia market.”
