Interserve Group Limited retains security contract with UK national broadcaster

Interserve Group Limited, the international support services, construction and equipment services group, has retained its contract with the BBC to provide security services across its UK estate.

The three-year contract award is worth £47 million and builds on a partnership formed in 2014 between Interserve’s security brand First Security and the broadcaster.

First Security will continue to provide a range of key services at more than 90 of the broadcaster’s buildings across the UK, including iconic sites such as MediaCityUK in Salford Quays and New Broadcasting House in central London.

First Security is one of the UK’s top ten security suppliers of manned guarding and total security. The business is focused on providing clients with smarter security solutions, tailored to their individual requirements and delivered with unrivalled care and consideration. Clients include retail parks, leading banks, investment houses, distribution and data centres, major exhibition, arts and cultural centres, as well as the professional services sector.

First Security provide the national broadcaster with services such as: static and mobile security patrols; close protection; mobile keyholding; risk assessments and operating control rooms, alarm systems and CCTV. In addition, the new contract includes investment in technology such as a tool to help individuals manage risk via an App and implementing improvements to security resilience.

Debbie White, Chief Executive Officer, Interserve Group Limited, said:

“Our collaborative, adaptive and technology driven approach alongside the extensive experience we have delivering security services to more than 3,000 locations across the UK marks Interserve out as a leader in this field.

“We are delighted to extend our long-term partnership with the BBC and this contract award is an example of how we continue to deliver our strategy, winning repeat business with major public and private sector clients.”
